Methyl Iodide Strategy Session
Join Pesticide Watch at ECO-FARM!
"What organic farmers need to know about methyl iodide; AND what we can do about it."
1:30pm, Friday, February 3, 2012Methyl iodide is a toxic soil fumigant that will have dire health and environmental consequences for organic and conventional farmers as well as their non-farming neighbors and the communities they feed and employ. In this session, we'll learn about the hazards of methyl iodide and how it poses a serious threat to the sustainability of agriculture, especially along the Central Coast. We will also strategize about how to further engage the organic farming community in stopping methyl iodide's use locally, and at the state level.
